Now DGCA issues rules for type certification of air taxis

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is advancing plans to introduce air taxis in India by 2026. It has released guidelines for vertical take-off and landing aircraft and vertiports. IndiGo's parent company has ordered up to 200 air taxis from Archer, targeting launches in India or the UAE, depending on regulatory preparedness.
