Rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia has led to a surge in Indian saffron prices. In retail, the price can reach as high as Rs 4.95 lakh per kg, which is equivalent to the cost of nearly 70 grams of gold based on Friday's rate of Rs 72,633 for 10 grams.
