Air India will begin non-stop flights from Mumbai to Melbourne on December 15, increasing the number of seats available between the two cities by 40,000 per year. The airline will operate three times a week, with promotional fares for economy class starting at Rs 49,000 for a round trip. The flights will be operated with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft and will provide seamless connections between 17 Indian cities and Melbourne via Delhi or Mumbai. The new route aims to meet the growing demand for travel between India and Australia.
