Air India will begin non-stop flights from Mumbai to Melbourne on December 15, increasing the number of seats available between the two cities by 40,000 per year. The airline will operate three times a week, with promotional fares for economy class starting at Rs 49,000 for a round trip. The flights will be operated with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft and will provide seamless connections between 17 Indian cities and Melbourne via Delhi or Mumbai.
