Govt refutes reports, says no plan to import wheat

"There is no such plan to import wheat into India. The country has sufficient stocks to meet our domestic requirements and FCI has enough stock for pubic distribution," the department said on Twitter responding to the news item. Earlier this year, multiple rounds of heat waves in several wheat-growing regions in India ahead of the rabi harvest affected some wheat crops.
