India to monitor sewage in major metros for Covid strain

Indian Sars-CoV-2 Genomic Consortium (Insacog) is expected to begin the sampling from sewage and gutters, to detect the presence of the Covid strain currently circulating in the community, initially in around four to five cities and then gradually expand the programme to areas across the country with high population densities.
