Equity indices plunged for second straight session on Thursday with the benchmark BSE sensex falling over 1,000 points amid broad-based selling across sectors. The 30-share BSE index fell 1,159 points or 1.89 per cent to close at 59,985; while the broader NSE Nifty settled 354 points or 1.94 per cent lower at 17,857.
